Focus on Pride

Our organization is grounded in pride, dignity, and self-actualization, centering the advancement and well-being of the African diaspora community. We are committed to building pathways that empower individuals and families to define success on their own terms, while strengthening cultural identity, collective purpose, and long-term community prosperity. Everything we do is guided by what is in the best interest of the African community socially, economically, educationally, and generationally.

government interaction

Working at the federal level

NEPAPAC is actively building a presence in policy spaces that shape long-term outcomes for underserved communities across Northeast Pennsylvania and beyond. This includes advocating for equitable funding allocations, strengthening access to federal grants, and ensuring that community-driven priorities are represented in national conversations around housing, education, workforce development, and public health. NEPAPAC also works to establish strategic relationships with congressional offices, federal agencies, and national coalitions to elevate local needs into actionable policy.

environmental stewardship

Strong advocates of the environment

NEPAPAC is a strong advocate for environmental stewardship and environmental justice, ensuring historically underserved communities are not disproportionately impacted by pollution, industrial development, or climate-related risks. NEPAPAC serves as a member of the Environmental Justice Board for the PA Department of Environmental Protection, where it contributes community-centered perspectives to state-level environmental decision-making. The organization helps elevate air quality, water safety, land use, and sustainable development concerns, while advocating for policies that prioritize clean, healthy, and resilient neighborhoods. NEPAPAC bridges grassroots environmental awareness with formal policy channels, ensuring actionable environmental protections across the region.

Black kids code SCHEMA program

Nepapac and education

NEPAPAC offers the only summer education program of color in Northeast Pennsylvania, providing students with culturally responsive learning experiences that center identity, history, and academic empowerment. The program is designed to close opportunity gaps by combining enrichment in STEM, literacy, the arts, and leadership development with mentorship from educators and professionals who reflect the communities being served. Beyond academics, the program emphasizes self-confidence, civic engagement, and long-term educational pathways, helping students build both the skills and the vision needed to succeed in higher education and future careers.
